Philosophy

In my work as a therapist, I am engaged, curious, gentle, and direct. I deeply believe in the power of creating a safe space for you to name the difficult parts of your internal world, particularly the thoughts and feelings that might have previously been left unsaid.

My work is rooted in social justice—part of our work together will be learning to navigate and understand the systems we exist in together. I have extensive experience working with individuals and couples of all genders and sexualities.

Winnicott wrote,"It is a joy to be hidden, but a disaster not to be found.” There is a tension between keeping our internal worlds private and wishing to be seen. Deep listening and witnessing is so important to our healing.

Background

I am a Brooklyn-based clinical social worker and therapist. I work with adults, adolescents, and couples. I provide therapy both virtually and in-person at our office in Prospect Heights.

I am a queer therapist and provide sex-positive, trauma-informed care to my clients. Some of my specialities include: trauma-informed therapy with the LGBTQ+ community, sex therapy for those particularly impacted by abuse and sexual trauma, and those feeling stuck in cycles of anxiety and depression. I was trained from a Modern Psychodynamic and relational approach. Through our therapeutic relationship, we will piece together the patterns, defenses, and challenges that have existed throughout your life and treat them with curiosity and gentleness.

I received my Masters in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work and am currently licensed in the state of New York.
